UH, 1605 CONTAINS A STRUCTURE THAT HAS BECOME A DANGEROUS, ATTRACTIVE NUISANCE THROUGH NEGLECT AND LACK OF MAINTENANCE. AND MAY OF 23, 20 23 CODE OFFICER NOTICED THE HOUSE HAD A HOLE IN THE ROOF. MS. MALONE, UH, MALONE, THE OWNER STATED SHE WAS WORKING TO PAY FOR ROOF REPAIR AND A PERMIT HAD BEEN ATTAINED AT, AT, IN CONTRACTOR. HIRED THAT NO ONE, NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE BY JANUARY 20, 24. AFTER, AFTER IT KEPT GOING WITH NO PROGRESS VIOLATIONS PROCEEDED. AN INTERIOR INSPECTION WAS CONDUCTED OF THE HOUSE AND FOUND MULTIPLE VIOL VIOLATIONS. ON APRIL 7TH, Y'ALL HEARD IT. BUILDING ADVISORY APPEALS BOARD HAD A HEARING ON THE PROPERTY, FOUND TO BE DANGEROUS, DOING PART OF THE HOLE AND ROOF, AND A MOLD LIKE STU SUBSTANCE. THROUGHOUT THE HOME, THE OWNER PROVIDED 30 DAYS TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR AND THE CASE SET FOR A NEW HEARING. IN MAY, UH, THE OWNER WAS ORDERED TO APPEAR IN THE MEETINGS MAY AND JUNE AT EACH MEETING. THE TIME FOR COMPLIANCE WAS EXTENDED. THERE'S NO PROGRESS. IT ACTUALLY BEEN MADE AT THE JULY MEETING, THE PROPERTY OWNER STATED SHE HAD SUBMITTED AN INSURANCE CLAIM AND THE ADJUSTER HAD BEEN TO PROPERTY EARLIER TODAY. SHE FOUND, SHE STATED SHE FOUND A ROOFING CONTRACTOR OFFERED FINANCING, AND THEN Y'ALL EXTENDED THE TIME TO COMPLY TO AUGUST IN ORDER TO OWNER TO APPEAR. AT THE AUGUST MEETING, AT THE AUGUST MEETING, OWNER PROVIDED AN UPDATE TO THE COMMUNICATION THAT SHE HAD. THE CONTRACTOR ORIGINALLY OFFERED FINANCING. SHE REPORTED AFTER FURTHER DISCUSSION, THE FINANCING HAD HAD FALLEN THROUGH, UH, AND IT WAS NOT FEASIBLE. THEN IN SEPTEMBER, I'LL ASK FOR, BACK IN SEPTEMBER, SEPTEMBER, HEARING WAS HELD. THE PROPERTY OWNER ASKED THE, PRESENTED THE MOSQUE CONSTRUCTION TO REPLACE THE ROOF, AND A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE DE MOSS, UH, PROVIDED A TIMELINE, AND IT WOULD SEEM LIKE A PRETTY EXACT TIMELINE IF HE COULD GET IT ON PENDING FINANCING. AND HE, HE WOULD, HE HAD APPLIED FOR A PERMIT AND HE WAS GONNA HELP WITH THE FINANCE. WELL, THAT, THAT DIDN'T WORK OUT EITHER. AND THEN ON DECEMBER 1ST, MS. MALONE PROVIDED TESTIMONY THAT SHE CAN REMOVE THE STUFF. SO THE HOUSE ON THE INSIDE WAS CLEANED OUT, BUT THERE WERE NO REPAIRS AT ALL DONE TO THE ROOF OR INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE. UH, IN, IN DECEMBER, Y'ALL WERE ASKED HER TO COME BACK TODAY AND AT LEAST PUT A TARP ON THE ROOF BY, UH, 12 EIGHT BY DECEMBER 8TH. WELL, ON DECEMBER 9TH, WE MET STAFF, MET WITH MS. MALONE, AND TO DISCUSS THE CONDITIONS OF THE PROPERTY AND THE NEED TO TAKE ACTION. THE TARP HADN'T BEEN PUT ON THE ROOF. UH, WE, WE CAME UP WITH IDEAS, WHICH YOU WOULD THINK THAT IF YOU HAD A HOUSE AND YOU COULDN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT, YOU MIGHT WANT TO FIND SOMEONE THAT COULD GET IT FROM YOU AND FIX IT. AND THAT TIME, THE RECOMMENDED ORDERS ENSURE THEIR STRUCTURE IS REPAIRED, REMOVED, OR DEMOLISHED IN ACCORDANCE TO APPLICABLE LAW WITHIN 30 DAYS OF DATE OF THE ORDER. AND A PERSON HAVING AN INTEREST IN THIS STRUCTURE MAY REMOVE OR DEMOLISH THE STRUCTURE AS SUCH'S OWN RISK TO PREVENT THE ACQUIRING OF A LIEN AGAINST THE LAND UPON WHICH THE STRUCTURE STANDS. SHOULD THE OWNER FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE ODOR ORDER, THE CITY IS AUTHORIZED AT ITS DISCRETION TO REPAIR OR REMOVE OR DEMOLISH THE STRUCTURE IN ANY ACCESSORY REQUIRED TO BE DEMOLISHED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE.
