AND I'LL GIVE YOU JUST A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE BICYCLE MASTER PLAN. WE WANTED TO GET THE COMMISSION JUST AN UPDATE ON THE PROJECT, KIND OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT, WHAT IT IS, AND THEN WHERE WE'RE AT IN THE PROCESS. UH, JUST TO GIVE YOU, UH, A BRIEF UPDATE ON THAT. SO, THE BICYCLE MASTER PLAN, WHAT WE WANTED TO DO IS TO CREATE A GUIDE FOR THE INVESTMENT OF BICYCLING IN THE CITY, UM, AND HELP ADVANCE CITY GOALS AND SUPPORT REGIONAL INITIATIVES WHEN IT COMES TO BICYCLING AND BICY CONNECTIVITY. SO I WANTED TO EVALUATE THE CURRENT INFRASTRUCTURE THAT WE HAVE, THE CURRENT BICYCLING NETWORK, EXPLORE SOME OPPORTUNITIES, AND THEN LOOK AT WAYS TO CONNECT OUR CITY TO THE GREATER DFW METROPLEX. SO WHAT WE DID, WE STARTED BACK IN THE WINTER OF 2024, AND WE SPENT ALL OF 2025 DOING DATA COLLECTION RESEARCH, PUBLIC MEETINGS, UM, AND RIGHT NOW WE'RE AT THE POINT WHERE WE'VE GOT RECOMMENDATIONS PUT TOGETHER AND WE'RE FINE TUNING THOSE. AND SO WE'LL BE BRINGING THOSE TO YOU IN THE NEXT MONTH OR SO. UM, SOME PROJECT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR, FOR YOU ALL TO REVIEW. SO THE VISION STATEMENT, THE GRAND PRAIRIE BICYCLE MASTER PLAN STRIVES TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A COHESIVE, SAFE, AND CONTINUOUS BICYCLE NETWORK THAT CONNECTS NUMEROUS DESTINATIONS ACROSS THE CITY AND SERVES BICYCLISTS OF DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS AND COMFORT LEVEL, REGARDLESS OF AGE OR ABILITY. SO IN KIND OF TRYING TO ACHIEVE THAT GOAL, WE STARTED WITH A LOT OF BACKGROUND RESEARCH ON LONG-TERM PLANS THAT THE CITY'S DONE, SOME OF THE ADJACENT CITIES REGIONAL INITIATIVES, REALLY TRYING TO GET A FEEL FOR WHERE THE ENTIRE DFW AREA WAS AT. AND WE ALSO DID A LOT OF DATA RESEARCH TO COME UP WITH WHAT WE CALL THE BICYCLING PROPENSITY MAP. AND SO IT IS ESSENTIALLY WHAT THIS TAKES A LOOK AT IS A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT FACTORS, INCLUDING SCHOOLS, PARKS, DESTINATIONS, UH, HOUSEHOLDS WITHOUT VEHICLES, THINGS LIKE THAT TO SEE WHERE BICYCLING INVESTMENT WOULD'VE THE BIGGEST IMPACT. AND THEN WE ALSO DID SEVERAL ROUNDS OF PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT, STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS, THINGS, UM, WHERE WE GOT SOME FEEDBACK FROM THE PUBLIC ONLINE SURVEY. UM, WE HAD SOME REALLY GOOD FEEDBACK FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT EVENTS. WE DID ALSO FOUR POP-UP EVENTS, WHICH WAS US GOING OUT INTO THE COMMUNITY MEETING WITH, UH, PEOPLE AND TALKING BICYCLING. THAT WAS REALLY HOW IT WAS IMPACTING THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS AND WHAT THEY WANTED TO SEE OUT OF THIS PLAN. UM, AND WE ALSO DID A ONLINE SURVEY THAT SHOWED THAT MORE THAN HALF OF RESIDENTS, UM, IN GRAND PRAIRIE DO BIKE, UM, AT LEAST A FEW DAYS A MONTH. AND THEY FEEL VERY STRONGLY ABOUT USING CITY RESOURCES AND CITY INITIATIVES TO INCREASE BY SOAKING, UH, INFRASTRUCTURE. AND SOME OF THE KEY FEEDBACK THAT WE HEARD IS THEY WANTED TO EXPAND OUR CURRENT PARKS AND REC, UM, TRAIL NETWORK AND HOW DO WE CONNECT ON STREET BICYCLING TO THAT. THEY WANTED TO SEE MORE BIKE LANES. THEY'RE REALLY INTERESTED IN SAFETY AND HOW TO BE INTERCONNECTED THROUGHOUT THE CITY. SO WE TOOK ALL OF THAT, THE, THE DATA COLLECTION, THE PUBLIC FEEDBACK, UM, THE STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT THAT WE DID, AND WE DEVELOPED WHAT WE'RE CALLING AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN. UH, SO WE'RE STILL FINE TUNING THIS, BUT ESSENTIALLY THIS IS A PROJECT LIST THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CITY BASED ON THAT FEEDBACK AND BISO AND PROPENSITY MAP THAT WE DEVELOPED. AND THEN WE RANKED THEM IN ORDER OF IMPLEMENTATION NEEDS, COMMUNITY SUPPORT, AND VISION ALIGNMENT. AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE FINE TUNING RIGHT NOW AND WE'RE EXCITED TO BRING BACK TO Y'ALL IN THE NEXT MONTH OR SO, UH, TO GET SOME FEEDBACK. UH, ALSO IN THE PLAN, WE'RE GONNA BE TAKING A LOOK AT OUR CURRENT, UM, BICYCLE GUIDELINES AND OUR DESIGN STANDARDS. UH, HOW WE CAN, UH, INCORPORATE BICYCLING INTO DESIGN AND OPERATIONS. HOW WE EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON, ON SAFE RIDING HABITS, UH, HOW WE TAKE A LOOK AT HOW [00:05:01] WE'RE PROGRAMMING PROJECTS TO BE FUTURE BICYCLING, UM, INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS. AND THEN HOW DO WE KEEP UP WITH BICYCLING IN THE CITY IF IT'S, YOU KNOW, IF WE'RE REDUCING CRASHES, THINGS LIKE THAT. AND THEN ALSO TAKING A LOOK AT HOW THIS WOULD AFFECT DEVELOPMENT CHANGES IN TERMS OF THE UDC AND, AND, UH, WHERE WE'RE SEEING GROWTH IN THE CITY. SO JUST TO KIND OF SUMMARIZE THIS PRESENTATION, WHAT WE MEANT FOR THIS PLAN TO BE IS JUST A GUIDE FOR STAFF. SO WE CAN TAKE A LOOK AT WHERE WE SHOULD BE DELIVERING BICYCLE PROJECTS IN THE FUTURE. UM, THE PLAN INCLUDES RECOMMENDATIONS AND THESE PROJECT LIST, UM, BUT WE'LL ALSO BE BRINGING BACK TO YOU SOME POLICY CHANGES. SO, AND IF WE DO ANY SORT OF TEXT AMENDMENTS TO THE UDC THINGS THAT WE WANNA UPDATE AS FAR AS DESIGN GUIDELINES, WE'LL BRING THAT TO YOU AT A LATER DATE AFTER PLAN ADOPTION. UM, THAT'LL BE A STAFF LEVEL THING THAT IS BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PLAN. SO WITH THAT, I TAKE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? I JUST HAVE MORE. SO, YOU KNOW, WE DID ONE UP AT DALWORTH PARK, AND THEN WE DID ONE AT THE EPIC AND THEN DOWN IN THE PENINSULA, UH, WITH CYCLING WITH THE MAYOR, EVENTS, THINGS LIKE THAT. WE ALSO DID THE SAME THING WITH OUR, UH, PUBLIC MEETINGS. SO WE DID, UH, TWO ROUNDS OF THREE MEETINGS EACH AND EACH OF THOSE, ONE WAS IN THE NORTH. ONE WAS KIND OF IN CENTRAL GRAND PRAIRIE, AND ONE WAS DOWN IN THE PENINSULA. AND WE DID THAT TWICE. OKAY. GOOD. ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? YOU'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT THIS IN THE , RIGHT? JUST HERE. SO WE'RE CURRENTLY WORKING ON A TRAIL PROJECT THAT IS PART OF THAT, UM, CONNECTION TO DOWNTOWN DALLAS, DOWNTOWN FORT WORTH. UH, I ALSO SERVE AS THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE CITY ON THE BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE. SO WE STAY IN TUNE WITH WHAT OTHER CITIES ARE DOING AND WHAT COGS DOING. UM, AND WE'RE ALSO, ANYTIME WE'RE DOING SORT OF LIKE A TECH STOP PROJECT, THEY REALLY ENCOURAGE BICYCLING AND PEDESTRIAN ENHANCEMENTS AS PART OF THOSE HIGHWAY PROJECTS. SO WE'RE WORKING WITH THEM AS WELL ON SOME OF THOSE LARGER PROJECTS. OKAY. I, UM, UH, I'M REALLY KIND OF ONLY FAMILIAR WITH THE RAILS IN NORTHERN PRAIRIE. MM-HMM . UH, CANCER ONE CLEMSONS DISTRICT THERE. THEY, IT'S, IT'S NOT A SEPARATE, UM, BIKE AND WALK PATH. MM-HMM . BUT WE ALSO DO SHARED USE PASS, WHICH THE 10 TO 12 FOOT, WHICH IS CYCLING AND PEDESTRIAN MIXED TOGETHER. THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. SO IT'S A LITTLE, IT'S A MIX OF BOTH. SO THAT'S PART OF THE PROJECT, UH, PRIORITIZATION AND IMPLEMENTATION PLAN IS PICKING THE RIGHT TYPE OF BICYCLING FACILITY FOR THE RIGHT ROAD. SO LOWER VOLUME ROADS, WE PROBABLY DON'T NEED THE 12 FOOT PATH ON THE SIDE. WE COULD DO ON STREET BIKE LANES OR A, A SHARED ROAD. OKAY. AND THEN ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH WHERE, UM, I THINK IT'S CALLED ENTERTAINMENT WAY NOW MM-HMM . INSTEAD OF LOWER TURN MM-HMM. WHERE INTERSECTION TO 1 61. MM-HMM . UM, SO ALL OF THOSE WILL, WILL INFORM THE GOALS AND STRATEGIES, UH, OF, OF THE PLAN AS WE GO ALONG. SO WE'RE ACTUALLY LOOKING AT A COMBINATION OF REDEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND NEW DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES. SO LOOKING AT THIS THROUGH THE LENS OF, UH, CATALYST SITES THAT, YOU KNOW, COULD, UM, ENHANCE, UH, THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEIGHBORHOODS THAT COULD, YOU KNOW, PROVIDE, UH, COMMUNITY CHARACTER, THEY COULD PROVIDE NEW PLACES TO GO. UM, LOOKING AT HOW WE CAN IDENTIFY SORT OF THE NEXT BIG THING WITHIN THIS AREA TO BUILD ON THE SUCCESS THAT WE'VE HAD, REALLY GOING BACK 50 YEARS WITH THE CREATION OF JOE POOL LAKE INTERSTATE 20. AND THEN MORE RECENTLY WITH THE CREATION OF GEORGE BUSH TURNPIKE. A LOT OF THESE THINGS, UM, KIND OF CAME TOGETHER THROUGHOUT THE DECADES, UH, TO PROVIDE, UM, REALLY IMPACTFUL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT THAT'S GIVEN THE COMMUNITY, THE CHARACTER THAT IT HAS TODAY. SO, LOOKING AT WHAT'S THE FUTURE OVER THE NEXT 20 YEARS OF THIS AREA, WE'RE TRYING TO IDENTIFY SPECIFIC SITES AND OPPORTUNITIES THAT CAN ACHIEVE THAT SAME KIND OF CATALYTIC GROWTH. UM, YOU'LL NOTICE THAT A LOT OF THESE PROPERTIES, YOU KNOW, ARE DEVELOPED ALREADY. THERE'S ALREADY SOMETHING THERE, PARTICULARLY ALONG THE I 20 CORRIDOR. A LOT OF THESE ARE NOT PUBLICLY OWNED. UM, IN TERMS OF, UH, PARTNERSHIP, UH, WITH DEVELOPMENTS, AS DEVELOPMENTS COME FORWARD OR REDEVELOPMENT COMES FORWARD, UM, GETTING AN IDEA OF WHAT THE CITY'S VISION IS FOR AREAS LIKE THE I 20 CORRIDOR, UM, OR THE SITES AROUND TRADERS VILLAGE IN THE AIRPORT, UM, OR ESTES PENINSULA DOWN TO THE SOUTH. SO THAT GOES BACK TO OUR VALUE ALIGNMENT AND OUR VISION STATEMENT, UM, THAT WE WANT, WHATEVER HAPPENS AT ONE OF THESE SITES OR WHATEVER DEVELOPMENT OCCURS WITHIN THE STUDY AREA TO BE ALIGNED WITH ONE OR MORE OF THOSE, THOSE VALUES IN THAT VISION. SO AS YOU LOOK AT THOSE SITES, UM, WE TRIED TO IDENTIFY THINGS THROUGHOUT THE, THE STUDY AREA, YOU KNOW, NORTH AND SOUTH, UH, EVEN GOING UP, UM, ALL THE WAY TO, TO PIONEER AND, AND BELTLINE. UM, IS THERE ANYTHING THAT, THAT STANDS OUT? ANY, ANY SITES THAT YOU MIGHT EXPECT TO, TO SEE IS A BIG SIGNIFICANT CATALYST SITE, UM, THAT, THAT'S NOT ON THAT LIST OR ANY, ANY COMMENTARY OR, OR THOUGHTS ON THAT? SORRY, I MOVED THE WRONG WAY. WE LOOKED AT THE PERSONAL VEHICLE, TRANSPORTATION, BIKE PAD, UM, TRANSIT, UM, AND OTHER MORE POLICY AND PROGRAM ORIENTED STRATEGIES AS WELL. IN, UH, COMBINATION WITH THAT, I WANNA START WITH THE ALTERNATIVE MODES, UM, WHICH IS OUR BIKE, PEN, AND TRANSIT. ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE PERSONAL VEHICLE. WE EVALUATED THE EXISTING NETWORK. WHAT IS ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW? WE MADE SURE TO LOOK AT, UH, THE EXISTING PLANNING EFFORTS THAT THE CITY'S, UH, HAVING, I'M GOING RIGHT NOW, INCLUDING THE BICYCLE MASTER PLAN. AND, UH, THE MAJOR RECOMMENDATIONS IN THIS SECTION WOULD'VE BEEN TO ADOPT THE BICYCLE MASTER PLAN AND START IMPLEMENTING THE PRIORITIZED PROJECT PROJECTS THAT THE BICYCLE MASTER PLAN HAS IN THEIR IMPLEMENTATION CHAPTER. UH, SIDEWALK CONDITIONS ASSESSMENT AND A DA SELF-EVALUATION WERE RECOMMENDATIONS SPECIFIC TO THE, UH, PEDESTRIAN NETWORK. UM, BECAUSE IT'S NOT IMPORTANT THAT WE JUST CLOSE THE GAPS IN THE SIDEWALKS, BUT WE WANNA MAKE SURE THAT THEY'RE A DA COMPLIANT, THAT THERE ARE NO OBSTACLES IN THE SIDEWALKS, THAT WE HAVE SIDEWALK RAMPS TO THE CROSSINGS, AND THAT THE CROSSINGS ARE SAFE, UH, SAFELY MARKED, ET CETERA. UM, IN TERMS OF TRANSIT, UH, WE LOOKED AT THE EXISTING TRANSIT OPTIONS, WHICH IS THE VIA GRAND, GRAND PRAIRIE AND GRAND CONNECTION. AND ONE RECOMMEND. ONE POINT OF RECOMMENDATION WAS TO EXPLORE, UM, OTHER, UH, POTENTIAL TRANSIT OPTIONS, SUCH AS POINT TO POINT SHUTTLE SERVICES, ESPECIALLY IN THE EPIC CENTER PARK AREA, AND TO PROVIDE TRANSFER FOR, UH, ANY VISITORS FROM LIKE PARKING OR HOTELS TO THE EPIC CENTER PARK, UM, ANYTHING OF THAT SORT. AND THEN, UH, IN THE FUTURE, IF JOEL POOL LAKE, UH, AND THE AREA, UH, GROWS INTO MORE LIKE RECREATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT, UH, UH, WE MAY WANNA LOOK AT SOME WATER TRANSIT OPPORTUNITIES, UH, WHETHER LIKE SEASONAL TOURIST OR EVEN FOR RESIDENTS. UM, IN TERMS OF THE THOROUGHFARE PLAN UPDATE, UM, I'M GOING TO JUMP THE GUN AND SAY THAT THERE WERE NO CHANGES TO THE THOROUGHFARE PLAN. UH, WE DID OUR DUE DILIGENCE ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION WHERE WE LOOKED AT THE FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATION. UM, WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY, UM, UH, PRO PROPOSALS, ANY PROPOSITIONS TO CHANGING THAT, UH, THE DESIGN STANDARDS AS WELL. UH, THEY'RE, THEY'RE WELL DIVERSE. THEY, UH, TALK ABOUT DIFFERENT CONTEXTS, UH, WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE CITY RIGHT NOW. SO WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY CHANGES TO THEM AS OF YET. UM, WE LOOKED AT THE EXISTING DATA SYSTEM PERFORMANCE, THAT'S YOUR TYPICAL VOLUMES AND CONGESTIONS. UM, AND ALSO SAFETY, UH, DATA AND CRASH DATA. THERE WERE NO OUTLIERS. UM, REALLY MAJORITY OF THE VOLUMES CONGESTION AND CRASHES HAPPEN ON THE TECH STOCK MAINTAINED FACILITIES, THE HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATES WITHIN THE CITY MAINTAINED ROADS. UH, WE ARE LOOKING AT THE MAJOR, UM, LIKE MAJOR NETWORK PRINCIPAL ARTERIORS THROUGH A FOUR AND SIX LANE DIVIDED ROADS. AND IN TERMS OF THE CRASH HOTSPOTS, IT'S USUALLY MAJOR INTERSECTION, MAJOR ROADWAY INTERSECTIONS. UM, IN TERMS OF BIKE PED, UM, SAFETY INFORMATION, UH, WE FOUND OUT THAT, UH, IN THE EPICENTER AREA, BICYCLISTS AND PEDESTRIANS ARE FIVE TIMES MORE LIKELY TO SUSTAIN A FATAL OR SERIOUS INJURY, UH, WHEN IN A CRASH, AS OPPOSED TO TWO VEHICLES, UM, CRASHING INTO EACH OTHER. THAT STATISTICS IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR THE DFW AREA. UM, SO IT'S NOT A GOOD STATISTIC, BUT IT'S NOT AN OUTLIER EITHER. IN THE DFW AREA, IT GOES USUALLY ANYWHERE BETWEEN FOUR TO SIX TIMES MORE LIKELY, UM, FOR A BICYCLIST OR [00:25:01] A PEDESTRIAN, UH, TO SUSTAIN AN INJURY LIKE THAT. BUT, UM, THIS SECTION KIND OF REVEALED, YOU KNOW, WE WANT TO FOCUS OUR RECOMMENDATIONS AND INVESTMENTS INTO OPTIMIZING THE NETWORK SO THAT IT'S AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE FOR EVERYONE. AND THAT ALIGNS WITH THE EFFORTS THAT ARE ALREADY BEING DONE BY BRETT WITH THE, UM, BICYCLE MASTER PLAN AND THE ON ONGOING EFFORTS INTO THE SAFETY, SAFETY ACTION PLANNING, UM, SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL, SAFE ROUTES TO PARK, ET CETERA. WE MADE SURE TO COORDINATE, UM, WITH THE REGIONAL AND STATE AGENCIES. WE LOOKED AT THE PLAN TRANSPORTATION PROJECT FROM T STOCK FROM NCT COG, UH, TIP, WE LOOKED AT THE NCT COG LONG RANGE MOBILITY PLAN, THE CDC IPS AND, UH, THE ADJACENT CITIES AND THEIR, UH, PLANS. UM, THEY'RE THE THOROUGHFARE PLAN FOR GRAND PRAIRIE ACCOUNTS FOR ALL OF THESE PROJECTS AT THE MOMENT. SO, UH, AGAIN, THERE WERE, THERE WAS NOTHING TO UPDATE IN THE THOROUGH FAIR PLAN MAP IN TERMS OF THESE, UH, FOR THE PLANNED AND ONGOING DEVELOPMENTS. THE CITY PROVIDED US WITH A LIST, AND NONE OF THE SITE PLANS IN THESE DEVELOPMENTS DEVIATED FROM THE THOROUGH FAIR PLAN EITHER. SO HENCE, THERE WERE NO CHANGES TO THE PLAN, WHICH IS GOOD NEWS. UM, AND THE ONLY CHANGE THAT WE ARE KIND OF PROPOSING, IF YOU WILL, IS THE DESIGN OF THE MAP. UH, THIS PARTICULAR DESIGN OF THE MAP IS GOING TO BE MORE FRIENDLY TO THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED, UM, UH, FOLKS THAT WILL BE WANTING, WANTING TO USE OR READ THE MAP IN THE FUTURE. , ONE OF THE MAJOR RECOMMENDATIONS THOUGH, ARE, UH, THE FLEXIBLE DESIGN STANDARDS. UM, I MENTIONED EARLIER THAT WE DIDN'T DO ANY CHANGES TO THE DESIGN STANDARDS, WHICH HOLDS TRUE. HOWEVER, WHAT WE WANNA PROPOSE IS TO KIND OF FOLLOW UP, BUILD ON THE FOUNDATION THAT THE DESIGN STANDARDS PROVIDE AT THE MOMENT. UH, FLEXIBLE DESIGN STANDARDS WORK VERY WELL FOR COMMUNITIES THAT ARE ALMOST BUILT OUT OR COMPLETELY BUILD OUT. 'CAUSE THEY HELP OPTIMIZE THE EXISTING RIGHT OF WAY. UM, AND THEY DO IT BY CREATING CONTACT ZONES. WE LOOKED AT THE LAND USE WITHIN THE EPIC CENTER AREA AND CAME UP WITH THREE CONTACT ZONES, WHICH WAS THE HIGHWAY CORRIDOR, SUBURBAN CONTACT ZONE, AND LAKESIDE. AND THE TRANSPORTATION NETWORK WITHIN THE FLEXIBLE DESIGN STANDARD WILL REALLY TIE, UH, BACK TO THE LAND USE WITHIN THESE CONTEXT ZONES. THE HIGHWAY CORRIDOR CONTEXT ZONE IS, I DON'T WANNA SAY SELF-EXPLANATORY, BUT IT IS THE HIGHWAY CORRIDOR. THERE ARE MULTIPLE HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATES THAT CROSS, UH, THE EPIC CENTER AREA. AND IN THESE AREAS, WE WANT TO, THEY ARE VERY AUTO ORIENTED, AND WE WANNA LOOK AND MAKE SURE THAT THE ACCESS OFTEN ON RAMPS AND TO AND FROM BUSINESSES IS DONE SAFE IN A SAFE MANNER. THERE'S LESS, UM, FOCUS ON THE PEDESTRIAN AND BIKE ACCESSIBILITY, UH, AS OPPOSED TO, FOR EXAMPLE, SUBURBAN AREA. HERE WE'RE LOOKING AT THE NEIGHBORHOODS AND THE SUPPORTING COMMERCIAL USES. UH, THOSE ARE YOUR SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING, APARTMENTS AND SHOPPING CENTERS. AND WE'RE TRYING TO FOCUS ON BALANCING THE TRAFFIC FLOW, UH, SO THAT THE CARS CAN GET, UM, SAFELY AND LIKE WITH A NORMAL FLOW BETWEEN NEIGHBORHOODS, BUT ALSO CONNECT, UH, TO YOUR LOCAL, UM, LIKE DESTINATIONS OR TO YOUR HOUSE. SO LIKE VERY LIKE LOCAL ROADS. UM, WE'RE ALSO TRYING TO CREATE A BUFFER BETWEEN THE HIGHWAY CORRIDOR AND LIKE THE, AND THE, UH, SINGLE FAMILY, UH, RESIDENTIAL AREAS WITH THIS, UM, SUBURBAN CONTACT ZONE. THE LAKESIDE AREA IS YOUR JOE POOL, LAKE SURROUNDING AREA. UM, AND AS WE MENTIONED ALREADY A COUPLE TIMES, THE ESTES PARK, UH, WITH POTENTIAL FUTURE DEVELOPMENT, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE HEAVY EMPHASIS ON WALKABILITY, UM, AND ANY, ANY BUILDINGS THAT WOULD POTENTIALLY COME IN THERE, UH, REALLY COMPLIMENT THAT NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND DON'T TAKE AWAY FROM THAT RECREATIONAL EXPERIENCE.
