UH, WITH ME ARE ZANE KING FROM EPIC, CENTRAL, AND CHRISTIAN AT, FROM EPIC WITH PARTS ARTS AND REC. UH, WE ARE THE THREE PARTNERS THAT INVOLVED IN THIS EVENT. WE ALSO WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO OUR FLEET DEPARTMENT, OUR KIND OF OUR FOURTH PARTNER FOR PROVIDING FUEL AND STAFF FOR THE DIESEL POWERED COMPRESSOR WE USED FOR THE EVENT. DYNO FEST TOOK PLACE OVER ABOUT 17 DAYS WHERE WE HAD ANIMATRONIC DINOSAURS ALL AROUND EPIC CENTRAL. BUT ON MARCH 15TH, WE HAD THE LIBRARIES EVENT, WHICH IS ACTUAL, THE ACTUAL DYNO FEST EVENT. SO IN ADDITION TO THE DINOSAURS, WE BROUGHT OUT A-FRAMES THAT GAVE DESCRIPTIONS OF EACH OF THE DINOSAURS. WE ALSO HAD ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE. WE HAD A FOSSIL DIG. WE ACTUALLY HAD AN EXPERT BRING FOSSILS OUT TO ANOTHER TENT FOR THE EVENT THAT THE KIDS COULD PLAY WITH AND LOOK AT. WE ALSO HAD SOME OF OUR REGULAR CRAFT PROGRAMS, WHICH WAS LIKE MAKING FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS, WHICH ALSO ENCOURAGES FINE MOTOR SKILLS IN OUR SMALL FRIENDS. AND WE HAD STORY TIMES BOTH AT THE JAMBOX AND THEN POPPED UP AROUND DIFFERENT SPOTS ON THE TRAIL. IN ADDITION TO THOSE, WE HAD OUR DNO FEST, TODDLER PLAY SPACE. WE HAD A DINO INFLATABLE SLIDE, AND OF COURSE, BECAUSE THE LIBRARY, WE HAD MUSIC AND BUBBLES, AND THIS IS BASICALLY WHAT WE WANNA DO. WE WANNA BRING EDUCATION, CREATIVITY, AND THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER AT ONE EVENT. AND TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THE ATTENDANCE FOR DYNO FEST FROM 11 TO FIVE THAT DAY WAS 10,900 PEOPLE. SO WE ARE SUPER HAPPY, SUPER HAPPY WITH ALL OF THAT. SO I'M GONNA TURN OVER TO CHRIS CHAAT THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND. WE PARKED AND US TEAMED UP. WE, WE, IT WASN'T AT THE SAME TIME AS THE DINOSAURS WERE LAST YEAR. WE NOTICED A HUGE UPTICK IN OUR, UH, REGISTRATION THIS YEAR. WE WENT FROM 75 THE YEAR BEFORE TO WE SOLD OUT AT 200 PEOPLE. UM, WE ALSO, THIS YEAR WE ADDED A PROFESSIONAL RUN ORGANIZER WITH TIME, UH, TIME CHIPS AND EVERYTHING. UH, IT WAS INCREDIBLY, SEE SOME OF THE PHOTOS THERE, UH, JUST FELT LIKE A, LIKE A IN, UH, PROFESSIONAL 5K THAT WE HAD OUT THERE ON SITE. WE DO FEEL LIKE AFTER TALKING TO THE RUN ORGANIZER, IF THE DINOSAURS RETURNED, WE COULD BUMP THIS UP TO 300 NEXT YEAR. UH, GREAT. UH, IT WAS ALL OVER INSTAGRAM FOR THE FOLKS THAT WERE THERE. THE WEATHER WAS JUST PERFECT. AS YOU COULD SEE, THE DINOSAUR COSTUMES, UH, WERE IN FULL EFFECT. SO, UH, COUNCILMAN HENO, WE'RE GONNA HOLD YOU TO IT, THAT YOU'RE GONNA BE IN IT NEXT YEAR. BUT, YOU KNOW, THE HOTELS WERE AT FULL CAPACITY DURING SPRING BREAK, AND THIS WAS DESIGNED AS A SPRING BREAK, UH, AS A SPRING BREAK ACTIVITY. THE CONSISTENT TRAFFIC MADE THIS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL EVENT. UM, THIS IS BY FAR THE LARGEST EVENT THAT WE'VE EVER HAD. UH, THE SHEER NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT CAME IS STAGGERING. PE PETER MENTIONED THAT, YOU KNOW, 10,900 DURING THAT 11 TO FIVE, THAT'S AMAZING. BUT WHAT REALLY BLOWS MY MIND IS THAT IF YOU TAKE THE DATES, AND THIS IS EXCLUDING EPIC WATERS BOULDER AND EVERYTHING, JUST THE DYNO FEST AREA, 158,000 PEOPLE CAME TO SEE THIS, AND 27% OF THEM WERE GRAND PRAIRIE RESIDENTS. THAT MEANS THAT 73% [00:05:01] OF PEOPLE WERE NOT FROM HERE, BUT THEY CAME HERE, THEY VISITED, THEY SPENT MONEY, AND THEN THEY WENT HOME AND SLEPT IN THEIR BEDS. AND SOME OF 'EM STAYED IN OUR HOTELS. BUT FOR SPRING BREAK ITSELF, WE HAD A RECORD BREAKING YEAR. 264,000 GUESTS CAME TO EPIC CENTRAL DURING THE THREE WEEKS OF SPRING BREAK. THAT IS, THAT IS BIGGER THAN SIX FLAGS. THAT IS DISNEY LEVEL NUMBERS THAT OUR CITY IS PRODUCING AT OUR ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT. SO, YOU KNOW, THERE'S ALWAYS THINGS THAT WE CAN DO BETTER. ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING THINGS ABOUT THIS IS THAT EPIC WATERS AND THE RESTAURANTS WERE SOMETIMES WERE ON A TWO TO THREE HOUR WAIT, BUT NOBODY COMPLAINED BECAUSE THEY COULD SAY, HEY, JUST GO VIEW THE DINOSAURS. AND WHAT ALL OF A SUDDEN WAS A REALLY TOUGH TIME, BECAME A MEMORABLE TIME, AND PEOPLE SAID THEY WANTED TO COME BACK. FROM MY STANDPOINT, THIS IS THE BEST MONEY THAT WE AS A CITY HAVE EVER SPENT AT EPIC CENTRAL SHORT OF THE WATER SHOW. I I, EVERYBODY IS LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS COMING BACK. WE HAVE ALL KINDS OF THINGS PLANNED, AND I JUST THINK OUR SI, YOU KNOW, THIS ALL STARTED WITH MEGAN HAVING AN IDEA AND, AND HER AND PETER CAME TO ME AND SAID, LET'S DO THIS. YOU KNOW, ONCE AGAIN, KUDOS TO LIEUTENANT ROSS AND PD AND HIS TEAM BECAUSE THEY DID TRAFFIC CONTROL FOR US. THEY DID A GREAT JOB OF KEEP, YOU KNOW, WE LEARNED SOME LESSONS FROM DINO FEST AND WE APPLIED THOSE AND WE DID NOT HAVE THE SAME TRAFFIC ISSUES AT PIZZA FEST. EVERYBODY GOT TO PIZZA FEST SAFE.
