WE HAVE ONE SCHOOL IN, UH, SO, UH, I'M PROUD OF THIS PROGRAM. MANY OF THESE KIDS I'VE SEEN AFTER GRADUATION, AND THEY HAVE CONTINUED THEIR INVOLVEMENT, BUT EVERYBODY IN THE ROOM DECIDES NOW THIS IS WHAT WE DO. THEY, THEY SPEND A WHOLE DAY TOURING OUR CITY JAIL, FIRE DEPARTMENT, WATER DEPARTMENT, UH, TO SHOW THE WIDE RANGE OF JOBS THAT WE HAVE AVAILABLE IN THE CITY. IT FINANCE ATTORNEYS. WE'VE GOT 105 ATTORNEYS, WHAT WE GOT, 3, 4, 5, 5. BUT A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES, UM, THEY SPEND A HOUR OR TWO WITH ME AND ASK ME ANYTHING THEY WANT TO. IT'S JUST A REAL NEAT PROGRAM THAT WE STARTED YEARS AGO. AND THE SWAT DISTRICT HAS BEEN VERY, UH, BENEVOLENT AND BLESSING THEM EVERYWHERE, GIVING THEM TO THINGS. AND THEY SEE THE BENEFIT IN IT TOO. THE TEAM COUNCIL IS LEARNING ABOUT WHAT YOU ALL DO, THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL TO OUR CITY AND OUR COMMUNITY. THE IMPORTANCE OF DIRECTORS AND THE JOBS YOU ALL DO IN SERVING, UH, THE COMMUNITY AND EACH OTHER. AND THE COUNCIL, THIS, THE MAYOR'S TEAM COUNCIL IS LEARNING ALL ABOUT THAT. WE HAVE ADDED THIS AS A COMPONENT. SO THIS IS THEIR FIRST PRESENTATION. UM, THEY ARE FORTUNATE, THE KIDS THE FIRST GROUP THAT GETS TO DO THIS IN FRONT OF YOU ALL. SO I'M SURE THERE'S MORE BE TERRIFIED AND PARTLY EXCITED. UM, BUT THEY ARE DOING GREAT. SO WE HAVE, UH, WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO IS THEY'VE EACH TAKEN A FALL VOLUNTEER PROJECT, AND THAT PROJECT IS INTENDED TO BENEFIT THEIR SCHOOL AND OR THE COMMUNITY. AND THEY'RE, THEY'LL EACH SPEAK ABOUT IT. UM, I'VE ALSO TOLD THEM THAT IF PART OF THIS, WE'LL GIVE THEM CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK AND KUDOS, UH, AFTER THE PRESENTATION IS OVER. SO LIKE ON THE INTERCOM THROUGH EMAILS TO TEACHERS, AND THEY LET THEIR CLASSROOMS KNOW, UM, ON OUR HALLWAY, TVS THROUGH CANVAS AND ALSO THROUGH, UH, THE SOCIAL MEDIA THAT WE HAVE THAT SP HAS THE CAMPUS NEWSLETTER THAT OUR, UH, CAMPUS COORDINATOR MADE. AND THEN FLYERS VIA STUDENT COUNCIL. ME AND MACY ARE BOTH A PART OF STUDENT COUNCIL, SO WE SENT OUT FLYERS THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GIVE TO TEACHERS AND ALSO STUDENTS SO THEY COULD BRING BACK TOYS. YEP. ALL RIGHT. SO THIS WAS THE TOY DRIVE THAT WE DID AT OUR SCHOOL. UM, LAST FRIDAY. WE JUST, UM, HAD, UM, WE SENT OUT A BUNCH OF ANNOUNCEMENTS. WE JUST HAD KIDS COME IN AND, AND TEACHERS DONATE TOYS. TOOK ABOUT 45 MINUTES. WE JUST GOT AS MANY AS WE COULD. AND THEN WE LOADED THEM UP. WE HAD A BUNCH OF, WE HAD CHEERLEADERS, WE HAD OUR DRILL TEAM, WE HAD STUDENT COUNCIL ALL OUT THERE HELPING RAISE TOYS. UM, AND YEAH, IT WAS JUST REALLY SWEET TO JUST SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE REALLY WANTED TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY. SO, YEAH. AND HERE'S US AT THE ACTUAL SANTA HELPERS. YEAH. BUT IT WAS A REALLY BIG TURNOUT. WE HAD PEOPLE FROM EVERY SCHOOL IN GRAND PRAIRIE THAT WERE THERE. WE WERE THERE, GP WAS THERE, PRETTY SURE DUBISKI WAS THERE. AND BASICALLY THERE WAS THIS BIG TRAILER OF TOYS AND WE WERE LOADING THEM OFF, PUTTING INTO BIGGER BOXES, AND THEN PUTTING THOSE INTO THESE BIG, UH, PLASTIC, UM, I WOULDN'T SAY BAGS. AND THEN WE WERE WRITING NUMBERS ON THEM, PUTTING THEM IN THERE. AND THEN ONCE WE WERE DONE FILLING ALL OF THOSE BAGS UP, WE THEN LOADED THEM ONTO A REALLY BIG, UM, TRAILER, LOADED THEM UP, AND THEN THEY SENT 'EM OFF. AND FROM THERE THEY WERE GONNA PACK THOSE TOYS UP AND GIVE THEM ALL TO THE, TO THE KIDS OF GRAND PRAIRIE. THAT'S WHAT WAS REALLY COOL ABOUT THIS SERVICE PROJECT IS THAT WE WERE FOR SURE GONNA KEEP THOSE TOYS IN THE COMMUNITY IN GRAND PRAIRIE. SO, YEAH. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. WE DECIDED TO VISIT THE SENIOR CITIZENS AT HERITAGE TURNER PARK. MANY PEOPLE ARE LONELY AROUND THE HOLIDAYS, ESPECIALLY ELDERLY PEOPLE LIVING IN NURSING HOMES. SO FOR OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT, WE DECIDED TO SPREAD SOME HOLIDAY CHEER. WE CALLED IT GO FOR GREETINGS. AND WE MARKETED TO OUR CAMPUS AS A WAY FOR STUDENTS TO EARN COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS WHILE BRINGING HOLIDAY CHEER TO OUR SENIOR RESIDENTS. WE HAD OVER 60 STUDENT VOLUNTEERS SHOW UP TO PAINT, PLAY GAMES, AND OVERALL SPEND TIME WITH OUR SENIOR RESIDENTS FOR TWO HOURS. THE LADY IN THIS PHOTO SUMS UP WHY WE CHOSE THIS PROJECT. MS. SIMON SPENT THE ENTIRE TIME TALKING TO THESE GIRLS IN THE PICTURES WITH HER. SHE WAS SO OVERJOYED TO SEE THEM THAT SHE TEARED UP AND TOLD AND TOLD THEM ABOUT STORIES AND GAVE THEM LIFE ADVICE ON RELATIONSHIPS AND LIFE. AND ONE OF THE QUOTES FROM THE STUDENTS THAT SHE TOLD THEM WAS, OR ONE OF THE QUOTES FROM THE STUDENTS, I'M SORRY. IT WAS, IT HEALED. IT WAS HEALING FOR MY INNER CHILD BECAUSE MY GRANDPARENTS ARE GONE. AND IT WAS NICE TO HANG OUT WITH PEOPLE AROUND THAT AGE, WHICH IS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF OUR EVENT. OUR SENIOR RESIDENTS ARE A VITAL PART OF OUR COMMUNITY AND STILL HAVE SO MUCH TO GIVE AND TO TEACH US. MANY OF OUR SENIORS NEVER GET VISITORS. SO YOU HAVE A LITTLE TIME, YOU SHOULD GO VISIT THEM. OUR PLAN WAS IN COORDINATION WITH ANOTHER CLUB AT OUR SCHOOL. WE PLACED A BUNCH OF DROP OFF BINS THROUGHOUT OUR SCHOOL, BOTH IN AND OUT, AND COLLECTED THEM AT THE END OF THE DAY FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR TWO. AND WE PROMOTED THE DRIVE THROUGH NEWSLETTERS ALSO ON THE SCREENS AT LUNCH. AND THEN WE WENT UP ON THE STAGE AND WOULD SPEAK ABOUT IT. AND OUR PLAN WAS TO COLLECT NEW OR GENTLY USED COATS, HOODIES, HATS, AND MITTENS FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ARE HOMELESS OR THAT CANNOT AFFORD THESE ITEMS. AFTER WE HAD COLLECTED THEM OVER THE COURSE OF AROUND TWO WEEKS, WE SORTED ALL THE DONATIONS BY SIZE, GENDER, AND WHO WOULD THEY BE GOING TO. THIS EVENT ORGANIZED WITH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY BROUGHT JOY TO THE KIDS AS A CAREFULLY SELECTED PRESENCE FOR THEIR LOVED ONES. THEN ON DECEMBER 10TH AND 11TH, I PARTICIPATED IN THE SALVATION ARMY'S RING THE BELL CAMPAIGN OUTSIDE OF KROGER. ALONGSIDE THE LEGACY HIGH SCHOOL'S FOOTBALL TEAM, LAKERIDGE HIGH SCHOOL NHS AND TRACK TEAM, WE ENCOURAGE DONATIONS TO SUPPORT FAMILIES IN NEED. IT WAS INSPIRING TO SEE THE GENEROSITY OF MY COMMUNITY. I ALSO WANT TO TAKE A MOMENT TO EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION FOR THE INCREDIBLE WORK THIS COUNCIL DOES IN ADVANCING COMMUNITY PROJECTS. SO WHEN WE WERE THINKING OF A DRIVE THAT WOULD BENEFIT KIDS, REMEMBER HOW SOME KIDS COULDN'T AFFORD SOME OF THE GOOD SCHOLASTIC BOOKS? SO WE TRIED TO GIVE THEM THOSE BOOKS AT A REDUCED OUR NO AT A FREE PRICE. EVERY MORNING. WE ANNOUNCED IT O OVER OUR SCHOOL'S ANNOUNCEMENTS IN ORDER TO RAISE AWARENESS AND ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO DONATE BOOKS TO OUR COSTS. OUR TEAM ALSO CREATED FLYERS THAT WERE DISTRIBUTED ACROSS THE SCHOOL THAT MADE SURE THAT PEOPLE KNEW, UM, WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE. BEHIND OUR BOOK DRIVES THESE BOOKS WILL BE GOING TO LOCAL LITTLE LIBRARIES THAT ARE DISTRIBUTED ACROSS GRAND PRAIRIE, AS WELL AS THE ONE THAT IS FOUND RIGHT OUTSIDE KENNEDY'S MIDDLE SCHOOL. SOME OF THE EPIC HIGHLIGHTS. UH, FOR THIS YEAR, UH, WE HAD OVER 12,391 NEW MEMBERS TOTALING AT 1.65 MILLION IN REVENUES AND OVER 309,000 SCANS. OUR MEMBERSHIPS REVENUES INCREASED BY 12.8%. UH, SOME OF OUR NEW PARTNERSHIPS INCLUDED GRAND PRAIRIE ARTS COUNCIL, THE ASIAN TIMES SQUARE MPX WRESTLING TABLE TALK GAMING GROUPS. WE HAD BLUEWAY FITNESS GROUP. WE ALSO PARTNERED WITH 1310 THE TICKET AND CREATED EPIC TO PROVIDE UNIQUE EVENTS. UH, WE ENHANCED OUR, OUR EFFORTS TO UTILIZE RENTAL SPACE. I KNOW THIS WAS AN ACCOUNT INITIATIVE. UH, THE VAST MAJORITY OF THOSE, ABOUT 62% COMING FROM MEMBERSHIPS. UH, RENTALS HAS GROWN OVER THE LAST YEAR. UM, THAT WAS A, UH, A REQUEST FROM COUNCIL FOR US TO PUT MORE EMPHASIS IN THAT AREA. AND RENTALS THEMSELVES GREW BY ABOUT 40% FROM FY 23 TO 24. UM, THEN ROUNDING IT OUT, WE HAVE THE INTEREST EARNINGS IN THE FUND, UH, UH, THE SUMMER CAMPS, WHICH CONTINUE TO BE VERY POPULAR AT THE EPIC, UH, AS WELL AS THE CLASSES AND LEAGUES, THE FITNESS, UM, INDIVIDUAL FITNESS CLASSES AND SOME OTHER SOURCES, UH, ON THE EXPENDITURE SIDE, FAR AND AWAY MIMICKING, MIMICKING WHAT WE'VE TA TALKED ABOUT IN PAST PRESENTATIONS AT THE SUMMIT AND AT, UH, OUR COMMUNITY REC CENTERS.
