TODAY WE'LL BE TALKING ABOUT THE RECAP OF MAIN STREET FEST 2024. AS PROMISED, AFTER EVERY EVENT, OUR TEAM EVALUATES EACH EVENT AND MAKES IMPROVEMENTS TO BETTER ENHANCE THE EVENT. IN THIS PRESENTATION, YOU WILL SEE HOW WE MADE CHANGES TO THIS YEAR'S EVENT AND CREATED A BETTER FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE FOR OUR RESIDENTS. WE LISTENED TO YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS FROM LAST YEAR. WE CHANGED THE LAYOUT OF THE EVENT, EXPANDED THE CARNIVAL RIDES, ADDED ADDITIONAL FOOD TRUST, ADDED MORE TICKET BOOTHS THROUGHOUT THE EVENT, AND MOVED THE MAIN STAGE TO BETTER ENHANCE THE FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE. THIS TRULY IS A TEAM EFFORT WHEN IMPLEMENTING SUCH A HUGE EVENT LIKE MAIN STREET FEST. EVERY, EVERY CITY DEPARTMENT HAD A HUGE ROLE IN MAKING THIS EVENT A SUCCESS. FOR THAT, I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR EACH DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR SUPPORT. ALSO, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU THE MAYOR, THE CITY COUNCIL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT. WHEN WE WERE HERE LAST TIME, TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE RIGHT BEFORE THE EVENT, I MADE A LITTLE JOKE AND SAID WE WERE GONNA HAVE A HUNDRED PERCENT CHANCE OF FUN. THIS WAS TAKEN FROM THE ROOF OF CITY HALL, UM, ON SATURDAY NIGHT DURING THE, UH, HEADLINE PERFORMANCE. GREAT. UM, WE ARE ANTICIPATING, UH, APPROXIMATELY 40,000 VISITORS OVER THE THREE DAYS. JONATHAN, WE CAN ANTICIPATING. SO DO IT AGAIN. UH, SO, SO THE DATA IS, UH, IS AN ESTIMATE. WE'RE GONNA OKAY, WE'RE, WE'RE GONNA DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR. NOW WE'RE, WE'RE, WE'RE GUESSTIMATING 40 TO 45,000 THIS YEAR. UH, THAT WAS BASED OFF OF 30,000 [00:05:01] RECORDED VISITORS LAST YEAR USING THE PLACER DATA. UH, THAT'S COMING TO YOU GUYS, I UNDERSTAND, UH, NEXT MONTH FOR APPROVAL ON THAT, UH, CONTRACT. AND SO WE'LL HAVE THAT DATA AVAILABLE TO THE FINAL NUMBERS. , UH, SEVERAL SUCCESSFUL CHANGES THAT WE WANTED TO MAKE NOTE OF THIS YEAR. ONE WAS THE EXPANDED AND ENHANCED LAYOUT OF THE EVENT. UM, THE EVENT SIZE WAS APPROXIMATELY DOUBLED. UM, THAT INCLUDED DOUBLING THE, THE CARNIVAL AREAS, WHICH ALLOWED US TO ADD MORE CARNIVAL RIDES, UM, EXPAND THE, THE AREA LEAVE MORE BREATHING ROOM FOR, UH, THE PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY IN THOSE, UM, BUSY TIME PERIODS. THE CITY HALL LAWN WAS ACTIVATED THIS YEAR WITH ANOTHER STATE DJ, LOTS OF SEATING AREAS. THAT WAS A REAL POPULAR SPACE. WE WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO ENHANCING THAT, UH, GOING FORWARD. AND THEN THE MAIN STAGE PLACEMENT, YOU ALL NOTICED THAT THE STAGE ON THE OPPOSITE END, THAT OPENED UP THE EVENT LAYOUT AND ALSO, UH, PREPARES FOR EXPANDING FURTHER ON TO MAIN STREET. UM, IT ALSO, UH, COME TO FIND OUT HELPED MITIGATE THE SOUND COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE COME FROM NEARBY NEIGHBORHOODS. SO IT'S NICE WORK THERE AS WELL. UH, WE ALSO FENCED AND GATED THE EVENT THIS YEAR WITH SIX DESIGNATED ENTRY GATES. AND THAT PROVIDED FOR A LEVEL OF SAFETY AS WELL AS ALLOWED US TO INCREASE OUR REVENUE ON ALCOHOL SALES. WE ALSO HAD SOME, UH, ANTI VEHICLE BARRICADES PROVIDED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT ADDED ANOTHER LEVEL OF SAFETY THERE. UM, ADDITIONAL VENDORS THIS YEAR, UH, OF ALL OF ALL KINDS. WE ALSO HEARD YOUR REQUESTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM MORE FOOD VENDORS, UH, SPECIFICALLY TRUCKS AND TRAILERS. SO WE, UH, ENHANCED THAT AS WELL THIS YEAR. AND THEN, OF COURSE, LIKE YOU SAID, UH, ADDITIONAL . SO THIS YEAR WE HAD 73 TOTAL VENDORS COMPARED TO 52 LAST YEAR, AND 13 SPONSORS, UH, COMPARED TO SEVEN LAST YEAR. WE'LL HAVE FINANCIAL INFORMATION FOR YOU ON THOSE. SO ANYTIME YOU MAKE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES AT AN EVENT, IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT FOR US TO EVALUATE FEEDBACK AND USER EXPERIENCE AND MAKE SURE THAT WHAT WE'RE DOING IS THE RIGHT DECISION FOR OUR CUSTOMERS. SO, UM, THANK THANKFULLY SOCIAL MEDIA WAS AN OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE RESPONSE FOR US. AND, UH, SPECIFICALLY NOTED WERE A LOT OF THE COMMENTS HIGHLIGHTING THE THINGS THAT WE CHANGED ABOUT THIS YEAR'S EVENT. SO, SPECIFICALLY CALLING OUT THAT THEY LIKED THE IMPROVED LAYOUT AND THEY APPRECIATED THE ADDITIONAL VENDORS. SO THAT SAYS TO US THAT THE SYSTEM IS WORKING AND WE'RE EXCITED TO CONTINUE TO IMPROVE. UM, LIKE I SAID, THERE'S ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. SO WE GOT SOME FEEDBACK ABOUT THE RESTROOMS. AND DESPITE DOUBLING THE AMOUNT OF RESTROOMS WE HAD THIS YEAR COMPARED TO YEARS PAST, WE'RE STILL GONNA EXPAND ON THAT NEXT YEAR AND MAKE SURE THAT THAT'S ACCESSIBLE FOR ALL OF OUR USERS. THE CARNIVAL IS ALWAYS ONE OF OUR BIGGEST HITS AT THIS EVENT. UM, AND WE'RE REALLY APPRECIATIVE OF Y'ALL'S COMMENTS ON THE GRAND PRAIRIE RESIDENT COUPON AS THIS WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. SO THIS WAS DISTRIBUTED TO 70,000 HOMES VIA THE LIFE OF THE GRAND MAGAZINE. UM, 5,000 OF THEM WERE DISTRIBUTED BETWEEN REC CENTERS AND LIBRARIES, AND THEN ANOTHER 20,000 WERE HAND DELIVERED TO ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN BURY ISD. SO 2,500 OF THOSE RESIDENT COUPONS WERE REDEEMED ON SITE, WHICH IS OVER HALF OF ALL THE TOTAL RISK BANDS REDEEMED. SO THAT WAS, THAT WAS A HUGE WIN FOR US, AND WE WERE REALLY HAPPY ABOUT THAT. UM, WE ALSO HEARD YOUR THOUGHTS ON TICKET BOOTS, THE INCREASING THE NUMBER OF THEM AND THE PLACEMENT ON SITE. AND OUR CAR NUMBER OPERATOR WAS A HUGE ADVOCATE FOR THAT. AND EVEN FRIDAY NIGHT AFTER HE SAW HOW THE TRAFFIC WAS FLOWING, MOVED SOME OF THOSE BOOTS TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT EXPERIENCE FOR OUR GUESTS. SO THOSE LINES WERE A LOT BETTER THIS YEAR. UM, AND WE'RE EXCITED TO SHARE THAT WE HAVE THE LARGEST REVENUE FROM THE CARNIVAL IN THE HISTORY OF MAINSTREAM HOUSE. SO LOOKING FORWARD TO 2025. WE'RE, WE'RE ALWAYS PLANNING AND DREAMING. OUR PROPOSED DATES FOR NEXT YEAR WILL BE APRIL 25TH OF THE 27TH. SO KEEPING WITH THAT LAST WEEKEND OF APRIL, UM, OUR LAYOUT MAY LOOK A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT NEXT YEAR, DEPENDING ON SOME OF THE CONSTRUCTION DOWNTOWN. WE ARE LOOKING AT EXPANDING ONTO MAIN STREET AND CLOSING THAT DOWN. SO WE'LL COME BACK TO YOU GUYS LATER IN THE FALL WITH SOME MORE THOUGHTS ONCE WE, UH, DIG INTO THAT A LITTLE DEEPER. BUT LOOKING TO ADD SOME ADDITIONAL PERFORMANCES AND ACTIVATIONS FOR PEOPLE TO DO ON SITE. UH, THIS LED TO $213,000 IN, UH, COST RECOVERY THIS YEAR. UH, THAT'S A HUGE INCREASE OVER WHERE WE WERE LAST YEAR, ABOUT $90,000. WE HAD INCREASES ACROSS THE BOARD, UH, VENDORS, SPONSORSHIPS, ALCOHOL SALES AND CARNIVAL ON THE EXPOSURE SIDE. WE DID SPEND A LITTLE BIT LESS ON ENTERTAINMENT THIS YEAR, UH, WHICH IS A LITTLE MISLEADING BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY SPENT MORE ON OUR HEADLINERS THIS YEAR. WE WERE ABLE TO FIND SOME COST SAVINGS ON THE DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT, UM, ABLE TO GET BIGGER ACTS TO FINISH OUT THE NIGHTS, UM, AND KEEP COSTS A LITTLE LOWER. HOWEVER, WE [00:10:01] DID SPEND, UH, CONSIDERABLY MORE ON THE EVENT PRODUCTION THAT'S MOSTLY DUE TO THE SIZE INCREASE. UH, MORE TABLES, TENTS, CHAIRS, RESTROOMS. AND WE ALSO ENHANCED THE PRODUCTION OF THE STAGE ITSELF, UH, BRINGING IN DIFFERENT SOUND COMPANY. UM, OVERALL WE INCREASED OUR COST REVENUE RECOVERY TO 42% THIS YEAR COMPARED TO 27% LAST YEAR. UM, THE NET COST TO THE PARK FUND WAS TWO $89,000, WHICH WORKS OUT BASED ON OUR ESTIMATED, UH, CROWDS TO ABOUT $7 A PERSON. WE DO THINK THAT THAT WAS A WORTHWHILE, UM, COST FOR SUCH AN AMAZING EVENT, BUT WE'RE LOOKING MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO INCREASE THAT COST RECOVERY IN THE FUTURE. MOSTLY SPONSORSHIPS. GOOD JOB. UM, AND THROUGH THAT WE GOT OVER 115,000 ESTIMATED VIEWS FROM THOSE SOURCES. UM, ON TOP OF THAT, WE HAD, OBVIOUSLY OUR PAID MEDIA. WE HAD THROUGH 250 RADIO SPOTS THROUGH VARIOUS RADIO STATIONS, STREAMING STATIONS, AS WELL AS, UH, PAID ADVERTISING ONLINE THROUGH APPS AND THROUGH WEBSITES. AND THROUGH THAT WE REACHED OVER 3 MILLION PEOPLE. AND ON TOP OF THAT WITH, THROUGHOUT THOSE RADIO SPOTS AND THE DIGITAL MARKETING, UM, ADDITIONALLY TO THAT WE HAD, UM, PER YOUR, YOU KNOW, PER YOUR SUGGESTION AND YOUR INPUT, WE UPDATED THE BILLBOARDS AS WELL TO HIGHLIGHT THE MAIN STAGE HEADLINERS, AS YOU CAN SEE THERE. UM, ON TOP OF THAT, WE DID DO AN ADDITIONAL DIGITAL BILLBOARD ON 1 61 AND ONE AND I 20 WITH THAT GRAPHIC. UM, ON TOP OF THAT, WE ALSO ADDED A PERMANENT SIGNS AROUND TOWN, SIGNAGE LOCATION AT LAKE RIDGE AND ENGLAND PARKWAY DOWN THERE, DOWN SOUTH, UM, AS WELL AS GETTING ALL THE RESIDENT COUPONS DISTRIBUTED TO GPI SD AND UH, PARKS FACILITIES AND THE LIBRARIES AS WELL. UM, AND ALSO WITH SOCIAL MEDIA REALLY RAMPED UP A LOT THIS YEAR. WE HAD GREAT IMPACT AND ENGAGEMENT THIS YEAR FROM ALL FROM OUR AUDIENCE. UM, AS YOU CAN SEE, WE CREATED OVER 50 POSTS. EVEN MARK NU AND MICHAEL SALANO HIGHLIGHTED US ON OUR OWN PERSONAL SOCIAL CHANNELS FROM THEIR EVENT, FROM THE EVENT. UM, SO WE REACHED A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THROUGH, UM, SOCIAL MEDIA AND THROUGH ENGAGEMENT AND THROUGH RESPONSES ON THE RSVPS WAS MUCH BIGGER INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR. SO YOU CAN SEE PEOPLE REALLY WERE RESPONDING FAVORABLY TO, UH, ALL THAT WE DOING ON SOCIAL MEDIA. AND ONE OF THE UNIQUE THINGS THAT WE DID THIS YEAR ON SOCIAL MEDIA WAS WE DID A WHOLE REEL ON INSTAGRAM ABOUT INTERVIEWING PEOPLE AT THE EVENT ABOUT WHAT THEIR FAVORITE PORTIONS WERE. MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE FESTIVAL IS THE LIVE MUSIC AND THE LEMONADE. MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT MAY STREET FEST IS THE LIVE MUSIC. IT WOULD PROBABLY BE THE LIVE MUSIC TOO.
