WE PARTNERED WITH THE, UH, GREAT PRAIRIE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND BRINGING WHAT THEY'RE CALLING CHRISTMAS ON THE PRAIRIE TO DOWNTOWN, WHICH IS A LARGE VENDOR CRAFT SHOW. UH, THAT REALLY EXPANDED, UH, THE FOOTPRINT OF WHAT WE DO. WE ALSO ADDED A DRONE SHOW. AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE'S A PICTURE WITH THE PPTX LOGO FROM THE DRONE SHOW, WHICH WAS VERY WELL RECEIVED, VERY MUCH APPRECIATED BY THE CROWD. UH, THIS YEAR WE HAVE ALMOST TWO POINT OR 2,300, BASICALLY 2300 PEOPLE ABOUT THANK YOU, UH, TO THE, UH, TO THE CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING, WHICH IS ALMOST DOUBLE WHAT WE HAD LAST YEAR. UH, THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE GONNA CONTINUE TO BUILD OFF OF. WE THINK IT'S AN ANNUAL EVENT IN DOWNTOWN THAT'S GONNA BE BASICALLY, UH, SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE DO OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. AVERAGE STAY OF ALMOST 70 MINUTES. THAT MEANS THAT IT WAS STICKY. PEOPLE STUCK AROUND. THEY LOOKED AT THE, UH, VENDORS. UH, THEY, THEY ESCAPED ON THE ICE RINK. THERE WAS A NICE LONG LINE THAT NIGHT. UH, ALMOST 72%, 72% OF THE PEOPLE THAT ATTENDED WERE GRAND PRAIRIE RESIDENTS, WHICH WE'RE VERY PROUD OF THAT. THAT MEANS IT WAS SOMETHING THAT OUR RESIDENTS EMBRACED, OUR RESIDENTS WANTED TO PARTICIPATE IN. BUT THE FACT THAT WE BROUGHT 38% OF OUR FOLKS FROM OUT OF TOWN TO INTRODUCE THEM TO DOWNTOWN GRAND PRAIRIE IS, UH, EXCUSE ME, 28% IS, UH, IS REALLY SOMETHING THAT WE'RE PROUD OF AS WELL. CHIP? YES, SIR. SO, THE DATA PART OF IT'S JUST THAT NIGHT, BUT THE 2300 IS FOR THE WHOLE STAY. NO, SIR. THAT'S JUST FOR THAT NIGHT. WE HAD 2300 THAT NIGHT. YES, SIR. WOW. IT'S THE BEST. AND YOU'RE GONNA SEE SOME NUMBERS HERE IN JUST A LITTLE BIT THAT'LL SHOW HOW MUCH BETTER THE ATTENDANCE WAS. BUT WE DID HAVE BETTER ATTENDANCE. AGAIN, A LOT OF FIRST TIME SKATING EXPERIENCE, AND YOU CAN TELL THAT BY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT ARE HUGGING THE WALL OUT THERE. UH, WE BROUGHT MORE PEOPLE TO DOWNTOWN WITH THE INCREASED ATTENDANCE. WE ALSO BROUGHT NEW PEOPLE, NEW [00:05:01] EYES TO THE DOWNTOWN AREA, AND IT'S A FREE ACTIVITY. AGAIN, THANK YOU TO OUR CITY COUNCIL FOR ALLOWING US TO DO THIS FOR FREE FOR OUR CITIZENS AND OUR GUESTS. IT'S SOMETHING THAT WE THINK IS AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PAY. SO WE TARGETED, WE TARGETED AREAS THAT WE FELT LIKE WE WANTED TO DRAW PEOPLE IN THAT MAY NOT BE AWARE OF WHAT'S GOING ON. THAT'S AN EXAMPLE OF THE MAILER THERE ON THE BOTTOM, AND THEN THE STICKER THERE. OKAY. INTO THE NUMBERS. THIS YEAR WE HAD 4,700 SKATERS. WE SKATED AT ABOUT A 90%, 89% CAPACITY FOR THE OPTION, OPTION FOR THE, UH, SESSIONS THAT WE HAD. SO THAT MEANS THAT WE WERE PRETTY FULL. WE MAXIMIZED THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT WE GOT OUT ON THE ICE AVERAGE, UH, VISIT TIME OF ONE HOUR. AGAIN, THAT MADE IT STICKY. THAT MEANS THAT PEOPLE WERE DOWN HERE AND SPENDING TIME IN DOWNTOWN, HAVING AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAYBE DISCOVER A RESTAURANT, MAYBE DISCOVER A SHOP OR SOMETHING ELSE THAT'S GOING ON. SO I THINK THAT THIS ACTIVITY IS BRINGING PEOPLE DOWN HERE AND SERVING THE PURPOSE OF INTRODUCING INTO DOWNTOWN, UH, TOTAL FOOT TRACK ON FOOT TRAFFIC. ALMOST 8,100 TOTAL PEOPLE CAME IN. SO THAT'S SKATERS AND PEOPLE THAT CAME AND VISITED ALONG WITH THE SKATERS, MOMS AND DADS THAT WEREN'T SKATING WITH THE KIDS, GRANDMAS AND GRANDPAS, THINGS LIKE THAT. UH, OVER HERE, 8,100 VISITS, THAT'S THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT CAME THROUGH. TOTAL NUMBER OF TIMES PEOPLE VISITED, OF THAT VISITS, 7,800 WERE UNIQUE VISITORS. SO ONLY 300 OUT OF THAT 8,100 WERE PEOPLE THAT WERE REPEAT VISITORS. SO THAT MEANS THAT WE INTRODUCED 7,800 NEW PEOPLE TO DOWNTOWN, OR UNIQUE PEOPLE TO DOWNTOWN GRAND PRAIRIE. THEY MAY HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE. THAT'S A GREAT NUMBER. YOU KNOW, THIS NUMBER WAS HALF OF THAT. THEN WE'RE JUST SEEING REPEAT AFTER REPEAT AFTER REPEAT. AND WE'RE NOT GETTING NEW EYES DOWN HERE. BUT THE FACT THAT ALMOST 90% OF IT IS, IS, UH, NEW, NEW EYES IS SOMETHING THAT WE REALLY ARE PROUD OF. UH, ATTENDANCE BY HOUR. WE WERE OPEN TILL EIGHT O'CLOCK BOTH NIGHTS. UH, NINE O'CLOCK ON THE WEEKENDS, NINE O'CLOCK. THIS IS FOR AFTER NINE O'CLOCK. SO THE NINE O'CLOCK HOUR, THAT MEANS THAT WE HAD TO EXTEND OUR SKATING SESSIONS BEYOND OUR POST-IT TIMES. 'CAUSE WE HAD THAT MANY PEOPLE IN LINE. THE FACT THAT WE WERE ADDING AN EXTRA SESSION AT THE END OF THE NIGHT BECAUSE WE HAD PEOPLE COMING OUT, THEY WANTED TO SKATE. AND IF THEY WERE IN LINE BEFORE EIGHT 30, WE'D MAKE SURE THAT THEY GOT THE SKATE IF THEY WANTED TO STAY, IF IT MEANT AT NINE OR AT NINE 30, WE WERE GONNA GET 'EM OUT THERE IF THEY WANTED TO STAY. UH, ZIP CODES. SO, UH, BREAKDOWN OF, UH, THE OVERALL ZIP CODES, 62% OR FROM GRAND PRAIRIE. UH, SO NEARLY 40%, JUST A LITTLE UNDER 40% FROM OUT OF THE TOWN. SO AGAIN, WE'RE HITTING OUR RESIDENTS, WE'RE SERVICING OUR RESIDENTS, BUT WE'RE ALSO BRINGING NEW EYES AND PEOPLE FROM OUT OF TOWN, TOWN AND HOPEFULLY THEIR MONEY COMES WITH THEM EVENTUALLY. AND THEN WITHIN GRAND PRAIRIE, THIS IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE, THE ZIP CODES. UH, 42% AND 7 5 0 5 2, WHICH IS THE LARGEST GEOGRAPHIC ZIP CODE IN GRAND PRAIRIE. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S THE LARGEST POPULATION OR NOT, BUT IT IS THE LARGEST GEOGRAPHIC ZIP CODE. UM, OUR TIPS AT 7 5 0 5 4 DIDN'T BEAR FRUIT, BUT WE'RE GONNA CONTINUE TO WORK ON THAT. WE'RE GONNA CONTINUE TO TRY TO MESSAGE TO THOSE FOLKS THAT DOWNTOWN GRAND PRAIRIE IS THERE DOWNTOWN AS WELL. WE'RE NOT GONNA GIVE UP ON THAT. THIS IS OUR FIRST YEAR TO TARGET THEM. KIND OF A MINI PRAIRIE LIGHTS AREA OVER IN FRONT OF THE FOUNTAIN HERE. UH, PICTURES WAS SENT ON THE WEEKENDS. SO WE'VE ALREADY RECEIVED A NUMBER OF INQUIRIES FOR FOOD VENDORS, ARTS AND CRAFTS VENDORS. SO WE'RE HOPING TO HAVE THOSE APPLICATIONS OUT IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. SO KEEP A LOOKOUT FOR THAT. ONE THING SPECIFICALLY IS, UM, I KNOW FOOD TRUCKS ARE SOMETHING WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE OF AT THIS EVENT. SO I'VE COMPILED A LIST OF FOOD TRUCKS IN THE AREA THAT WE'RE GOING TO SHARE THE APPLICATION WITH, UM, AND INVITE THEM TO THIS YEAR'S EVENT. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE DOING DIFFERENTLY THIS YEAR WITH OUR BUSINESS EXPO, WHEREAS IN THE PAST IT WAS TREATED THE SAME AS REGULAR ARTS AND CRAFTS VENDORS, WE'RE REALLY ELEVATING THOSE BUSINESS VENDORS TO COME IN AS SPONSORS, FOCUSING ON THE QUALITY OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE BRINGING TO THIS YEAR'S EVENT, HAVING THEM COMING IN AT A LITTLE BIT OF A HIGHER LEVEL.
