UH, MOST RECENTLY WAS $10 MILLION IN CARES FUNDING THAT WE WERE ABLE TO SPREAD OVER 17 PROJECTS DEALING WITH THAT KIND OF LEGISLATION.
IT MADE SENSE THAT I KIND OF BE THE ONE TO HELP UNDERSTAND, HELP YOU ALL UNDERSTAND WHAT WE'RE FACING WITH THIS UNPRECEDENTED AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT'S BEEN
WHAT WE'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT IS OUR LEGISLATION FUNDING, MAPPING SOME PROJECTS AND OUTREACH, AND A BROADBAND ASSESSMENT, UH, THAT WE HAD SUBMITTED FOR EARLIER IN THE YEAR.
UM, I DO WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT ONCE WE KNEW ABOUT THIS AS OF NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR, WE HAVE CONSTANTLY BEEN LOOKING AT IT, RESEARCHING IT TO MAKE SURE THAT GRAND PRAIRIE IS AT THE FOREFRONT AND ABLE TO GET ANY KIND OF FUNDING THAT'S ALLOCATED BROADBAND LEGISLATION.
SO, I'M NOT GONNA READ THE SLIDE TO YOU, BUT OUT OF THESE FOUR, EACH ONE KIND OF ESTABLISHES A PROGRAMMATIC AUTHORITY ON HOW THE STATE OF TEXAS WILL ALLOCATE THESE FUNDS.
THE ONE I WANT YOU TO PAY SPECIAL CLOSE ATTENTION TO IS, UH, HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1 25.
YOU'RE ACTUALLY GONNA SEE THIS ON THE NOVEMBER BALLOT BECAUSE THE STATE OF TEXAS WANTS TO ALLOCATE $1.3 BILLION FROM OTHER FUNDING SOURCES INTO A BROADBAND SPECIFIC FUND.

FOR INSTANCE, SENATE BILL, UH, 2119 SAYING THAT THE PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION WILL MAINTAIN THE MAP.

SO, UNDER ARPA, THERE'S ALREADY BEEN FUNDING, UH, ISSUED, WHICH IS THE BRINGING OPPORTUNITIES ONLINE TO TEXAS.
THERE'S A TON OF THESE ACRONYMS, AND I REALLY ENJOY THEM.
GRAND PRAIRIE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE.
THE STATE COMPTROLLER WAS NICE ENOUGH TO ISSUE A LIST OF ALL THE ELIGIBLE AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
GRAND PRAIRIE WAS AMONG THEM THAT WAS INELIGIBLE.
THIS FUNDING WAS SPECIFICALLY TARGETED TO RURAL COMMUNITIES, WHICH BE SADLY, UNDER THE BROADBAND EQUITY AND ACCESS DEPLOYMENT PROGRAM OR BEAD.
AS YOU ALL SEEN IN THE NEWS, THIS IS THE $3.3 BILLION THAT WAS AWARDED TO THE STATE OF TEXAS.
YOU'LL NOTE ON YOUR SUMMARY, THAT WAS THE LARGEST AWARD TO ANYONE IN THE UNITED STATES, AND THAT COVERS TERRITORIES AND TRIBAL DISTRICTS AS WELL.
OUT OF THAT, NO LOCAL FUNDING HAS BEEN, UM, THERE'S NO BEEN, THERE HASN'T BEEN ANY PROGRAMS TO DISSEMINATE OR ALLOCATE THAT FUNDING TO ANY OF THE LOCAL JURISDICTIONS.

SO THE INTERNET, RIGHT? SO BEING ABLE TO USE IT FOR EDUCATION, TELEWORK, TELEHEALTH, THOSE KIND OF SKILLS, THAT'S KIND OF WHAT THAT TARGETED, UH, FUNDING IS TARGETED FOR.
ONCE AGAIN, THERE'S NOTHING THAT'S BEEN ALLOCATED TO IT.
MOVING INTO THE TIMELINE, THIS IS SPECIFICALLY FOR BEAD.

THE QUESTION WAS THAT THE WAREHOUSES THAT WERE BUILT AT AVENUE K AND AVENUE K, GREAT.

NOW, WHERE WE ARE NOW IS THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND THEY HAVE TIED INTO AVENUE K.
THERE IS NOT A TENANT ON THE NORTH SIDE.
THE FORMER MAYOR OF KELLER IS ON THE SOUTH SIDE AND IS USING THAT ENTRANCE AS Y'ALL HAD APPROVED WHEN THEY CAME TO THE COUNCIL AND ASKED FOR PERMISSION FOR AN SUP IN ORDER TO DO THAT.
SO THEY WOULD BE THE, THE BUILDING WOULD BE SPLIT IN HALF AND ON THE SOUTH SIDE WOULD, THAT WOULD BE THAT BUSINESS, WHICH DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING BUT TWO PANEL TRUCKS THAT THEY UTILIZE.
WHAT WE HAVE PROPOSED IS TO, THROUGH MEETINGS THAT STEVE AND MISS GEORGIA HAD WITH THE NEIGHBORHOODS AS IT RELATED TO THE BUILD OUT OF GREAT SOUTHWEST TWO FOUNTAIN PARKWAY.
ONE OF THE AGREEMENTS OR ONE OF THE CONVERSATIONS THAT WAS MADE WAS BECAUSE THAT WAS ALREADY A PART OF THE STREET CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR 23, WHAT WE WOULD DO IS WE WOULD EXPEDITE THE BUILDING OF THAT DISTANCE FROM THE RED TO THE BLUE.
THE BLUE WOULD BE BUILT BY THE CITY TO FOUNTAIN PARKWAY.
AND WHAT THAT WOULD DO IS THAT WOULD BE A WAY OF ALLEVIATING SOME OF THE TRAFFIC THAT WOULD, TRUCK TRAFFIC THAT WOULD BE COMING TO THIS WAREHOUSE FROM AVENUE K.

BUT THEY ENDED UP DOING IT ANYWAYS AND BETRAYING OUR AGREEMENT.
SO THAT THAT'S WHAT MADE IT COME UP THE SECOND TIME.
IT WAS KIND OF A GENTLEMAN'S HANDSHAKE.
